Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif 'body shames' party leader, calls him 'overweight'

The Pakistan government has made a decision to take action against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan under cybercrime and defamation laws for what it described as trying to influence the Supreme Court's judgement in the Panama Papers case and damage Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's reputation through vilified media campaigns.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also urged for accountability of the people who are using the blasphemy law for their personal interest.

Sharif admitted that in the past some miscreants had attempted to create divisions on the basis of religion but insisted that Pakistan was created where everyone was free to practice his or her religion.

"God will not ask a ruler what he did for followers of a certain religion", said Nawaz.

The Prime Minister demanded off the people to not decry holy places of any faith. Forced conversions are a crime according to Islam.

Addressing a function in Karachi to celebrate Holi, he insisted that it was not anyone's job to decide who will go to hell or heaven, but to make Pakistan a heaven on earth. He said that the people have never accepted politics based in hatred.

PM Nawaz Sharif announced to release Rs 500 million for the welfare of Hindu community.

Later in his address, PM Nawaz added, "I'll visit Kohistan". Earlier in the day, PM Nawaz convened a meeting with Federal Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, Nehal Hashmi and all district-level leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in Sindh.

"This will continue till the reputation of Karachi as the City of Lights is restored in the truest sense", he remarked.

In Gwadar, the Prime Minister will be briefed about Gwadar Port and on different development projects initiated under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The premier asserted that construction of circular railways would soon begin.

Sharif said his party would contest next elections with full preparation in Sindh and directed the party cadres to be prepared for electoral campaign for elections 2018.
