Having diagnosed with a kidney disease can be extremely stressful.

There are many factors that can increase an individual's risk of chronic kidney disease. The diseases in turn damage the kidneys. Worse, obesity directly or indirectly can damage the kidneys. When this occurs, kidneys can longer do their important work.

Screening is important, she said, because by the time a person begins to show symptoms of kidney disease, the damage is done.
