Proof Donald Trump's Inauguration Crowd Was Much Smaller Than Obama's

As you may recall, Donald Trump and his lackeys went after the media earlier this year for supposedly lying about the poor turnout for his Inauguration. While millions took to the streets in opposition, he was calling NPS's acting director to demand the release of photos that would buttress his claims.

And even President Trump claimed that he had the bigger crowd.

Of course, this isn't the first time Trump and his team have uttered misstatements about Inauguration Day.

"What this does is validate the other photos that were out there in January", Dan Gross, who was in charge of crowd logistics for Obama's 2013 inauguration, told the Post.

Hundreds of on-the-ground and aerial photos released Monday by the National Park Service this week give another look at the crowd size at the event, which became one of the first dramas of the new administration.

During a speech at the Central Intelligence Agency a day after Mr Trump was sworn in as president, he said: 'I turn on one of the networks, and they show an empty field.

The photos were released in response to news media requests made through the Freedom of Information Act.

I made a speech.

The initial photograph from Trump's inauguration (l.) showed an underwhelming crowd, especially as compared to Obama's eight years prior.

. I looked out, the field was, it looked like a million, million and a half people.

It is true that the pictures show crowds gathered near the Capitol's West Front stage for the ceremony. White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer also asserted that it was "largest audience to ever witness the inauguration period, both in person and around the globe". In reality, Trump probably has no idea that these photos were released, because he's too busy humming and plugging his ears while Steve Bannon reminds everyone on staff that they've never met anyone from Russian Federation. The National Park Service stopped providing crowd estimates in the 1990s.
