Microsoft outage affects email, Xbox, Skype, more accounts
A similar message is present on the Office 365 service status page: "We're investigating an issue in which some users may be unable to access or use Outlook.com services or features".
- Some Microsoft services have been experiencing outages for many hours, according to social media reports.
DownDetector is showing an increasingly unusual number of reports around the Office 365 ecosystem from around midday United Kingdom time rising to a peak around 2pm.
The issue is also affecting Xbox players, who can't access their Xbox Live accounts because they are run by Microsoft. The MS website says everything is down.
Some users said the service does not recognise their login details, with complaints coming from across the globe.
Another adds: "I had just finished making some major changes to my account when it told me my account didn't exist".
Microsoft did not immediately respond to a request for further comment. On Twitter, the hashtag #hotmail was trending in the early afternoon in Britain as users complained of being locked out.
"Sorry for the inconvenience".
"We're aware of the issue and working to resolve, please bear with us", the company said.
