Meet young Jack Sparrow in new Pirates of the Caribbean 5 trailer

Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (/Salazar's Revenge) will be released May 15, 2017. Take a look at the new trailer below. But most important of all is the new "evil" of: Javier Bardem who appears as a ghost that you will never want to meet in your nightmares!

The production team must have used old images of Depp as a young man to create this younger Sparrow and with the help of CGI made it all come alive, much the same way the Rogue One team created a young Princess Leia for the closing of their movie. But let's be real-most people who have met Jack, say the exact same thing!

Aside from the film receiving poor reviews, and a Rotten Tomatoes score of just 32%, a key issue in On Stranger Tides' limited success was the lack of franchise stalwarts Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley. But beware: this action-packed preview does contain an unsettling de-aged Depp in a flashback to Little Jack Sparrow, dropping us into the uncanny valley and abruptly taking us out of the cinematic experience.

The 52-year-old actor plays Captain Jack Sparrow in Disney's swashbuckling franchise and in the newest film he gets to play a younger version of the character.

The synopsis for Pirates of the Caribbean 5 reads: "The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar, escape from the Devil's Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea-notably Jack".

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' success could certainly be a chance for Depp to redeem himself as a box office draw. This is a fate Jack would rather avoid, so he seeks out the Trident of Poseidon, which grants its holder total power over the sea, and therefore over Salazar.

The release date, May 26, could also an interesting factor to watch when it comes to the success of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
