Senior Alert issued for Fairfax County man with cognitive impairment

Fairfax County detectives say they have 10 suspects, four adults and six juveniles, who they believe were involved in the murder of 15-year-old Damaris A. Reyes Rivas.

Police said detectives began their search in Lake Accotink Park, 7500 Lake Accotink Park Road, in Springfield.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said Monday that Damaris A. Reyes Rivas, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, was found dead Saturday in a Springfield, Virginia industrial park. Currently, nine suspects are in custody and have been charged with abduction and gang participation.

"The senior is described as a white male, 5'7" tall, 205 pounds, with hazel eyes and a bald head.

Police believe the killing to be gang-related.

Cindy Blanco Hernandez, 18, of Reston and Aldair J. Miranda Carcamo, 18, of Springfield have also been arrested, along with two other juveniles.

Fairfax Police is looking for Melvin Hardy Wylie.

Rivas had been reported missing in Montgomery County in early December.

Police said they think Damaris probably was killed about January 8 in Springfield's Lake Accotink Park and that her body was dumped nearby, where it was discovered by police over the weekend. Police would not say whether she was being charged with any crime. The teen's mother told NBC4 her daughter had been threatened by the gang MS-13.
