Hugh Jackman treated for skin cancer for fifth time

Cheekily, he added, "Looks worse with the dressing on than off".

On Monday, Jackman posted a selfie with a bandage on his nose, saying, "Another basal cell carcinoma". Jackman has had cancer scares in the past that have resulted in the removal of basal cell carcinomas from his body.

The Prestige actor was first diagnosed with the disease back in November 2013 and since then, has posted photos on his social media account regularly, encouraging his followers to wear sun screen and get checkups if they notice symptoms.

"Another basal cell carcinoma", he captioned the above photo.

Of those patients, eight out of 10 have basal cell carcinoma.

He explained that his wife Debora Lee Furness had asked him to get the apparent "mark" on the nose get examined by the professionals. "I swear! #wearsunscreen", wrote the 48-year-old Sydney-born Jackman, who paid $56 million for a low-rise penthouse apartment in Australia's North Bondi in March last year. "Boy, was she right!"

The Wolverine star revealed past year that he has had five skin cancers removed since his diagnosis. Please don't be foolish like me.

In an interview with People magazine in 2015, Jackman shared, "It's always a bit of a shock just hearing the word 'cancer.' Being an Australian it's a very common thing".

That year, he launched Pure Sun Defense, a sunscreen line for children that incorporated The Avengers, Spider-Man, "Despicable Me" and "Frozen". "It's the new normal for me".
