Fire in Mickey & Friends Parking Structure

If you're on your way to Disneyland, park in the Toy Story lot.

The Anaheim Police Department said nine cars were impacted by the fire at the Mickey and Friends parking structure.

A fire broke out in a parking structure at Disneyland on February 13, 2017.

The blaze began at 4:37 either the cargo area of a Toyota Prius, near its battery, or the engine compartment of a Ford Expedition, Sgt. Daron Wyatt of the Anaheim Police Department said.

The parking structure has floors named after Disney characters and provides about 10,000 parking spaces.

Multiple cars mysteriously went up in flames inside a Disneyland parking garage on Monday night - sending giant plumes of smoke billowing in all directions and sparking a wave of evacuations, reports said.

The fire's extreme heat, paired with the vehicles' proximity, makes an exact cause impossible to determine without further testing and evaluation, according to Wyatt. A few more reportedly had minor damage. Authorities announced the two-alarm fire was knocked down at about 5:35 p.m. Officials said they were waiting for the smoke to clear before allowing all guests to return to their vehicles. The cause of the fire is now under investigation, but there is nothing to suggest foul play at this time.
