Kerala: BJP worker hacked to death in Thrissur

At least four people from BJP and RSS have been killed since January.

A 20-year-old Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) worker was allegedly hacked to death in Kerala's Thrissur district.

"CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said that the BJP had tried to stage a "political coup" in the state through the students" strike at The Kerala Law Academy Law College. Earlier too, the BJP had accused the CPI (M) for murdering one of its party workers.

According to news agency ANI, the BJP worker has been identified as Nirmal (20).

The attack on Santosh (52) took place when he was alone in his house. Six CPI (M) workers were arrested in connection with the murder. The killing was a result of a scuffle that broke out during the festival, they said.

On December 28 a year ago, CPI (M) workers allegedly set fire to the house of BJP mandalam committee member Radhakrishnan in Pudussery, Kanjikode. The state is notorious for RSS-Marxist clashes that have claimed more than 300 lives in three decades. Violence committed by the Left in Kerala has been on for decades.
