Rachel Lindsay Confirmed as First Black Bachelorette

Awwww! Now, although Rachel is excited to make history in her new position, the up-and-comer doesn't think her season of The Bachelorette will differ from past seasons. Apparently that spark wasn't quite enough for them to get engaged, which means fans will get to enjoy an entire season of Rachel continuing to search for love.

Vial gave the first impression rose to Lindsay and it's the first in "Bachelor" history to have a black contestant winning the rose. During her one-on-one date in New Orleans on Monday night, she told the camera, "Because of what I do all day every, I can't show emotion, and I can't be weak".

There is a long(ish) line of lawyers trying to find love on television, there's even been a Bachelorette with a law degree (Andi Dorfman, who left a murder case mid-trial to be on TV).

Rachel Lindsay is confirmed to be the next woman to look for love in season 13 of "The Bachelorette". "I think she's going to be an wonderful Bachelorette". "I think you picked Corinne", she told Viall.

Two former Bachelor nation contestants stopped by PEOPLE Now to offer up some solid advice for the the 31-year-old attorney before she starts her (very public) journey to find love. The 13th season will premiere May 22, ABC announced.

"We're thrilled to have Rachel Lindsay as our next Bachelorette", Robert Mills, who oversees the franchise for ABC said in a statement. Variety reports that the network has named contestant Rachel Lindsay the first Black lead of The Bachelorette franchise.

Lindsay added, "If I just stay true to myself, then it'll be a successful show".

Nick Viall also shared his admiration for Rachel in an Instagram post praising her for her beauty, grace, and charisma. Are you happy with the next lead in "The Bachelorette?".

This is the earliest a new lead has ever been announced - every season has been somewhat different - but fans of the series seemed to accept Chris' apology, writing things like, "OK FINE, I forgive you".
