Zoe Saldana Says Hollywood 'Bullied' Donald Trump

"We got cocky and became arrogant and we also became bullies", she explained during an interview with the AFP. The actress believes that Trump has been bullied by those who dislike him, and she sees those insults as contributing to his win. She even co-signed an open letter with her fellow "Star Trek" actors that spoke out against Trump.

A year ago during the campaign, a lot of actors and crew members involved in the Star Trek franchise, Saldana included, co-signed an open letter that read, in part, "We can not turn our backs on what is happening in the upcoming election".

These statements, I think, harken to an argument many made in the wake of Trump's victory that blamed Clinton's loss, in part, on her use of celebrities-like Lena Dunham, Beyoncé, and Katy Perry-to amplify her platform and popularize her appeal.

Choosing not to learn from Nicole Kidman's "pro-Trump" comments, which landed the Australian actress in hot water earlier this week, Zoe Saldana has come out and seemingly stood up for our President-Elect and, as you can imagine, people are not pleased.

She said she is hopeful that America under Trump will not become the racially segregated society that it once was.

"So I just say, he's now elected, and we as a country need to support whosever the president because that's what the country's based on", Kidman said in her original comments.

Despite that praise, Saldana said some of the anti-Trump antics likely helped him among his supporters.
