Mom arraigned in teen girl dismemberment death

Both Packer and Sullivan have now been charged with her murder and associated charges.

Sullivan admitted he and his girlfriend were behind Grace's murder while in the hospital after a failed suicide attempt.

Packer told the police that Grace fled the apartment over a fight with her mother on July. They later gave Grace pills to sedate her, bound and gagged her, and left her to die.

Terri Hack, who lives directly across the street, said it was "extremely upsetting" to know people charged with this type of crime had been living so close. Today there were allegations that an arrest warrant for Packer is on its way, according to Philly.com. Sullivan then allegedly strangled and suffocated her until she died.

Bucks County District Attorney Matthew D. Weintraub said: 'This was a sexual fantasy that was shared between Jacob Sullivan and Sara Packer, and Grace Packer was the object of that rape-murder fantasy'.

Officials said on July 8, 2016, Sullivan and Sara Packer allegedly drover Grace Packer to their new home and upon arriving Sullivan struck Grace in the face multiple times before taking her into the attic where Sullivan reportedly raped the teen girl while Packer watched.

The pair allegedly planned the teen's death for more than a year. It wasn't clear if she left voluntarily, Barron said.

After the beating, Grace was taken to the attic by Sullivan and her adoptive mother. He strangled her and left her body buried in cat food.

Just a couple of weeks before Grace was found dead and desecrated, Sara Packer had been caught on tape purchasing a bow saw and replacement blades.

Authorities remain interested in speaking to anyone with additional information about Grace Packer's disappearance and death. They then put the totes inside the trunk of Sullivan's vehicle and drove to a wooded area near Luzerne County, Pennsylvania to leave Grace's remains.

Her torso was discovered by two hunters in a Luzerne County park.

Packer profited off her daughter's murder.

At about 3 a.m. the next morning - more than 12 hours later - they checked on Grace and found that she was still alive and conscious. Sara said she had sent Grace to her room back in July following an argument over the teen's request to go to a friend's house. She kept her head down and said nothing as she walked through a throng of waiting media, but once inside the courtroom she picked up her head and appeared to be smiling. Grace was the adopted daughter of Packer.

October 11: Pettinato tells Sara Packer that he is going to enter Grace into a national database for missing and unidentified persons.

There, Sullivan raped Grace while her adoptive mother watched, prosecutors say.

The attorney also hinted there may have been other alleged accomplices.

She had previously been arrested on charges of child endangerment and obstructing administration of the law. She spoke with Sara, who promised to drop off photos of the teen at the police department, but then there was radio silence. Packer did not make any plans to enroll Grace in school there.
