Their children, aged between eight months to four, had not been harmed.

The boys were taken to Halifax Health Medial Center in Daytona Beach for checkups.

Investigators said that they didn't immediately identify any obvious signs of foul play, but that they'll continue to investigate how the couple died. Family services is expected to meet with the children in an effort to assist with the investigation.

"I can tell you Dan was a loving, devoted father (who) did anything for his kids", Jackson said through a Facebook message Saturday night to a Sentinel reporter.

Jackson said Dan's youngest child just started walking a few days ago, and he didn't know a lot about Heather Kelsey as he had just met her this year.
