Texas Bowl: How to watch Kansas St. vs. Texas A&M

When Kansas State and Texas A&M square off in the Texas Bowl, the two programs will bring opposite momentum into the contest.

The Kansas State defensive back was called for a 15-yard penalty for the act, which will be enforced to start the second half. Offense had been an issue for part of the season, but K-State has now finished with at least 30 points in each of its final six games. This was arguably its best performance of the season.

Other bowl participants from Texas that have fallen in the postseason include North Texas (5-8) and UTSA (6-7). The Wildcats were too good, on this day.

Unlike other probable high draft picks who are skipping their bowl games after dealing with injuries this season, the defensive end will play for the Aggies when they meet Kansas State in the Texas Bowl on Wednesday night.

Trevor Knight and Josh Reynolds made a late push, but it wasn't enough.

"With what you see going on with bowl games, with what you see going on during the year in playing games, this guy was not healthy after Arkansas and was a dominant player", Sumlin said.

For now, the Wildcats are basking in the joy of snapping a two-game bowl losing streak and winning only their second bowl in seven years.

The incompletion helped seal K-State's 33-28 victory.

In addition to Ertz, Kansas State benefited from 107 receiving yards and a touchdown from Byron Pringle and 77 rushing yards from Justin Silmon. They also lead the all-time series against Kansas State 8-7, but the Wildcats have won the last three meetings. Would a five-loss season next year with a bowl of a similar stature be enough to force change, or is the A&M administration content with what the program has been, a mid level SEC West program? Christian Kirk went into motion to line up near Reynolds. Eight plays later, Ertz stiff-armed his way into the end zone on a five-yard keeper. The Aggies last played on November 24 in a 54-39 loss to LSU, giving them more than a month off which could lead to being a bit rusty.

When the AP's postseason poll is released January 10, it likely will not include any of the Lone Star State's 12 Division I football programs for the first time in 49 years.

Perhaps some of that was due to the absence of top running back Alex Barnes. Kansas State had dropped seven of its previous eight bowl games and was 1-5 in bowl games played in Texas.

The Wildcats reached into their bag of tricks for their final touchdown of the second quarter when receiver Dominique Heath took an end-around 52 yards for a touchdown.

Things were mostly back and forth from there.
