Snow & Freezing Rain For Some Areas

Get ready for wintry precipitation late Sunday night into Monday as a light winter storm impacts CT during the Monday morning commute with snow, sleet and rain.

Monday: Snow changing to sleet and rain in the morning, ending by midday, gradual clearing in the afternoon.

"Light snow accumulations up to an 1" are possible in the N & W suburbs through the Lehigh Valley along with a few hundredths of an inch of ice accumulation possible, before changing to rain early Monday morning. It also looks more active with several chances for wintry precipitation.

"By the morning commute, we should have 1-3" of snow on the ground across much of the state with perhaps up to 4" or 5" in the higher terrain along the MA line. Low around 28. South wind around 8 miles per hour. The low temperatures across MA on Sunday morning hit single digits and teens in many places. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Accumulations of a dusting up to 1 inch is likely south of Interstate 70, with up to 2 inches possible in spots. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 29.

Meteorologists are predicting that the light snow expected to begin falling late Sunday afternoon will turn to rain by morning. Cloudy, with a high near 34.

Wednesday: Snow showers likely, mainly after 1pm. High near 44. South wind 7 to 9 miles per hour. I expect temperatures to make a nice recovery on Friday; however, it's going to take a while for the cold/dense and dry air mass to moisten-up.

Tuesday partly sunny with a high near 37. West wind 10 to 13 miles per hour.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, windy and cold.

Sunday: A 50 percent chance of snow after 2pm. Lows at night will tumble into the 20s, with low 20s or even some teens possible over north Alabama Thursday night. Southwest wind 3 to 6 miles per hour.
