According to WA Today, zookeeper Greig Tonkins proved he was good in the pocket when a kangaroo attacked his dog, giving the pouch-possessing provoker a punch in the puss.

The video, which has been uploaded multiple times and on multiple platforms, is being shared widely. Either way, the dog was in serious danger until the man came to its aid and punched the roo right in its face.

"A kangaroo kick to the guts could easily disembowel the owner", Greg Bloom, the man who took the video, wrote in a statement to ViralHog.

Footage has emerged of a man - who can only be described as the new Indiana Jones of Australia - saving a dog from a kangaroo's chokehold.

"It was amusing because the guy who did it is the most placid bloke".

"Well, we're not sure what's going on here but the roo has the dog, not the other way around", a man narrating the video says.

'He only threw the punch to redirect the animal and afterwards there were a few nervous and relieved laughs, and then we just went on with getting Kailem a tonner'.

Kailem lost his battle with Ewing Sarcoma on Thursday December 1. The kangaroo grabs the dog, wrapping its Arnold Schwarzenegger-size arms around the dog's neck.

Mr Amor explained how the hunting dogs were hot on the trail of a wild boar as they sped past a group of about 20 kangaroos.

It shows a man racing to help his pet dog "Max" as it is held in a head lock by a large kangaroo.

Sadly, Kailem died last week at Dubbo Base Hospital, just days after marrying his girlfriend Brandi-Lee.
