Even if you're not in a Messenger conversation with anyone, you'll be able to find and play these Instant Games via the Facebook News Feed.

This isn't the first time Facebook has launched a game via its Messenger app.

Because of its foundations in Facebook's Newsfeed and Messenger, Instant Games is a very social experience and encourages different people in messenger groups and conversations to pick up games and compete for scores.

Most people probably remember the bad old days of gaming on Facebook, with people spamming each other for help getting anywhere on FarmVille and Mafia Wars. You can also search for games by their name.

'We think this is just the beginning for games on Messenger - look for new titles to be added, and for new ways to play, ' said Facebook. Well, good thing that they can also be played via desktop.

Messenger has turned into an important platform for Facebook's strategy since it first launched in 2015.

Instant Games is launching in "closed beta" mode, and for now is only available to select developers. You can also seek out games by searching for it in Messenger's search field or on Facebook's News Feed where you can either opt to play solo or with friends in Messenger.

The biggest highlight of Instant Games is how quickly you can start playing games.

Instant Games allow you to to tap on a title and start playing immediately, no download or extensive app set-up required.

Instant Games is a cross-platform compatible, working on both mobile and the web version. However, those who weren't using it previously, or those that had a new incentive to want to make use of it more often, mainly the new "in-application" games that are available for contacts entertainment.
