Trump Tower becomes 'Dump Tower' on Google Maps

Looks like the heat surrounding the results of U.S. Presidential Election is refusing to die down in spite of it being declared couple of weeks ago!

Origin:On 26 November 2016, a prankster altered Google Maps so that Trump Tower (the New York City home base for President-elect Donald Trump) was labeled "Dump Tower". However, the original name was restored on the mapping service by early Sunday morning.

The 68-story high rise on Manhattan's swanky 5th Avenue is the location of Trump's penthouse apartment, which he shares with wife and future First Lady, Melania, and their 10-year-old son, Barron.

This tower, which has been the center of all things Trump during the campaign was renamed to "Dump Tower" for a couple of hours on Google Maps. By Sunday morning, that reference also had been removed. Trump has been using Trump Tower as his transition headquarters.

The trend caught on Saturday evening with a second Trump renaming.

While the Google spokesperson hinted that the error was caused by user contributions, many believe that it was a Google employee who confirmed the name change. This means that someone at Google probably confirmed the proposed Dump Tower moniker for the building. However, occasional inaccuracies can arise, such as this instance.
