Manoj Tiwari appointed new chief of Delhi BJP

Bhojpuri Actor and BJP MP Manoj Tiwari becomes the President of Delhi BJP:- By Replacing Satish Upadhyay, Bhojpuri actor turned BJP Lok Sabha MP from North-East Delhi Manoj Tiwari was appointed as the president of the BJP's Delhi unit. Later, he emerged as a leading singer and actor of Bhojpuri film industry.

Nityananda Rai was elected as an MP in 2014 and since then he has been representing the Hajipur constituency due to which he has triumphed elections. The ruling Aam Aadmi Party government has pulled all stops to woo them since coming to power in February 2015. The BJP could win only three seats.

Tiwari was born on February 1, 1973. "To win back Poorvanchali voters is the primary reason for the appointment of Mr Tiwari", said a party insider. Also, Tiwari has maintained a prominent image in the party and has been vocal on many issues including demonetisation. "However, given his relatively short stint in the party, consolidating his mandate within it given Delhi's ever-changing political dynamics are expected to emerge as somewhat of a challenge for him", the source added.

Rais appointment as new BJP chief was also hailed by leader of opposition in Legislative Assembly Prem Kumar and senior party leader Nand Kishore Yadav.

Tiwari's mass appeal among Poorvanchalis - a term used to refer to migrants from eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar - appears to be an attempt by the BJP to cut into the AAP's vote base.

"It is Mr. Kejriwal's policy to divide and rule".

"What we need is a work plan and not a war plan".
