Woman jumps from plane's emergency door after flight lands

A woman jumped from a plane an Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport Monday afternoon, police said.

Prosecutors said the woman is undergoing psychological tests after her jump that startled passengers on board United Airlines, Flight 1892. The woman opened the emergency door on Flight 1982 and then jumped out.

The woman was detained and police say she was taken to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.

The FBI also stepped in to question her, though it was later said she was no longer in FBI custody, according to KHOU. Friedman shot a video and posted it on YouTube shortly after the woman exited the plane.

One passenger, Cathy Cole, wrote on Facebook about the freakish experience.

According to HPD, the woman opened a hatch on the plane to exit. Ran to the terminal.

Onlookers said that she had jumped off after the plane had been kept waiting for 30 minutes on the runway.

'Several people said, "we have a runner" before we knew the door was open! "Paying cash to get on this flight", Cole continued. "I have no earthly idea why she would want to do that". There is no information about why the woman pulled the emergency lever.
