Grandma's Accidental Thanksgiving Text to Teen Sparks Friendship

The grandma, known only as Wanda, messaged 17-year-old Jamal Hinton by accident instead of her own grandson. When Jamal replied back asking who it was, the person on the other end replied "Your Grandma".

He told BuzzFeed News, "I really thought it was my grandma so I had to ask for a picture to make sure".

Despite the mixup, Hinton asked if he could still get a plate and Wanda said of course.

Yep, I think most people would agree that there's no type of love that can compare to the feels you get from your dear, adorable gram.

The teen took a screenshot of the conversation and posted it on Twitter, where it's been retweeted more than 150,000 times.

Intriqued by the message, Jamal replied to the message enquiring who it was, only to get the reply: "Your grandma". She's somebody's grandma, just not his.

Dench, a complete stranger, said she would still save a plate for him because "that's what grandmas do".

Wanda then invited Jamal's whole family over for the big Thanksgiving dinner on November 24 which they accepted. "That's what grandmas do.we feed everyone".

"I thought, 'Wow, this lady is really nice, '" he told ABC 15.

And if the divisiveness of America happens to come up during dinner time chatter, this story may be all you need to stop that one family member from dividing the dinner table.

Hinton said he will not only be making his way to Wanda's home on Thanksgiving, but he will be bringing something with him; maybe a pumpkin pie.

She has since changed her number but has exchanged information with Hinton and expects to see him on Thursday.
