The TV is decently-priced, but those looking for a large screen HDTV who are willing to wait should be able to find even better bargains as Black Friday approaches.

Many Liverpool stores have not yet released details about their discounts on the sales bonanza, so with only three weeks to go before the big day we tracked down the best deals to be found online instead. There's no real salient offer for PS4 bundles from Amazon yet, though buyers can get Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain for a good price via Amazon's Deal of the Day bonanza.

Last year the National Retail Federation found that only 55 percent of holiday shoppers bought anything on Thanksgiving weekend, down 5 percent from the year before.

How did Black Friday get its name? The retailer is now offering an Apple iPad Mini 2 with a huge discount and you will do well to find a similar deal elsewhere. Online shoppers in the United Kingdom are bracing themselves for attractive deals by likely participants: Amazon, John Lewis, Argos, Asda, Debenhams and Tesco.

Keep in mind, the best deals won't be limited to in-store sales. If you're looking for online deals, social media is the best place to find them, followed by promotional emails from the companies you like to shop at.

Black Friday is the first Friday after the Thanksgiving in the United States, and it represents a ideal storm for retailers: many people in the U.S. have the day off, and as a result it's been the busiest shopping day of the year for almost a decade.
